Gear we recommend

These U.S. based HEMA equipment suppliers have demonstrated excellent customer service and provide some of the best products and customer service available. From protective gear to feders, INLA recognizes them as tried and true HEMA equipment shops and endorses and recommends them wholeheartedly.

'For those who have searched for quality wooden European style swords as training tools in martial-arts, recreational combat, or living-history, these will easily hold up to the rigor of strenuous drills and exercises, or contact practice. These wasters are offered at significantly lower prices than other manufacturers! What is considered custom to them is standard to us.

In recent years we have expanded our product line to sparring swords and protective gear. We have engineered the finest sparring long and short swords in the world, and these are being used at tournaments all over the world. We are now importing the best protective gear to make this martial art safer and more available to everyone.

We are still a small family-run business. We are not like Amazon or some other shop that simply takes swords out of a container and puts them in a box -- well, some swords, not all! Usually your sword is made to order, so please allow us time to make your items. HEMA is growing at a rate that has taken many manufacturers by surprise, so even some of the well-established companies are having difficulty keeping up with demand. If your order is not shipped in 3-4 days, please understand that some of the items we stock are being made half-way around the world by small businesses just like us. We are all trying to equip the HEMA market as quickly as we can! '

'What started off as a garage-based hobby turned into a full-fledged business in 2013 with the rental of a small shop in Central Point, OR. Castille quickly outgrew that 2000 sq ft space and moved to a larger shop in Medford, and then we outgrew that building and started renting the one next door, and a few years later the one next door to that! Finally in 2018 we made the jump to a much larger shop in Phoenix, Oregon where we all live happily under one roof.

Since 2013, Castille Armory has entered the international arena and orders have far surpassed the output of a hobby shop. Sam has had to pass on his knowledge and techniques to his crew, a band of talented individuals that share the deep love for all things swords. This personal passion keeps Castille Armory moving forward. Because quality and attention to detail are everything in a niche’ market, everyone that works at Castille Armory fences. Mostly because we love to, but it’s that hands-on approach that means we designed your sword as if it were our own. If it’s not good enough for us to use in tournament, it’s not good enough for you.'

'We provide quality imported equipment for the practice of Historical European Martial Arts. We are the U.S. supplier for the famous Regenyei Armoury swords, the community-preferred hand protection from Sparring Gloves, and the new Black Armoury jackets. Many more products coming soon so check back often and follow us on Facebook for frequent updates on current stock and new items. We often have small supplies of various items (for example, HEMA books) that are available for a limited time so it's useful to "follow us" there. '
